How to Write a Clear Paragraph
One idea, supporting sentences, and a closing line — the structure that makes a paragraph easy to follow.
Start with one clear idea. A paragraph that tries to cover two ideas will confuse the reader, however well each idea is written. Write the main idea as the first sentence, in plain words.
Support it with reasons, not repetition. Each following sentence should add something: a reason, an example, or a consequence. If a sentence only repeats the first sentence in different words, cut it or move it elsewhere.
End with a sentence that points forward. A closing line can summarise the point, draw a small conclusion, or connect to the next paragraph. Without it, a paragraph feels unfinished.
Keep it to a readable length. For most purposes, five to eight sentences are enough. If a paragraph grows much longer, it probably contains two ideas — split it.
Use the UMARIX Paragraph Generator to draft the structure from your own points, then rewrite the result in your own voice. The generator gives you order; you supply the thinking.
